Loving & Living The Quran – Series for the Youth (Girls): Forgive and Forget: Lessons from Surah Al Noor
Often we feel lost, hurt and ‘let down’ by other. Sometimes, the situations become too painful to bear, which may result in an emotional numbness or inability to move on. We are advised FORGIVE AND FORGET. But is it wrong to feel bitter? What does Islam says about it? How did the Prophet and the Sahabah deal with such situations? How do we start this journey to emotional recovery? In this class, we will take a closer look at Sūrah An-Noor to discover the answers to these questions and understand how Allah prescribed for us to deal with such situations. This surah also contains many rules for the development of a society based on righteousness and morality. It provides guidance relating to male-female relations and the rules of proper dress for Muslim women. This surah contains the beautiful ayah of Light, and the story of the slander of Sayyidah Aishah and how Sahabahs practiced forgiveness. We will explore all these and much more.
