Living the Quran for Boys: Lessons from Surah Yusuf
In this course, students will be going through Surah Yusuf, described in the Qur’an as the best of stories.
This surah explores many themes applicable to the moral development of young people. As the surah unfolds, we come across concepts of sibling rivalry, deceit, being honorable, protecting oneself from desire and much more. Students will be encouraged to learn the process of pondering over the Quran, known as Taddabur.
- What is the complete meaning of a particular verse or story?
- Why has one word been used by Allah over others?
- Are there any repetitions in this surah to convey meaning?
- How can this be applied to our daily lives?
All these questions and much more will be covered in this class, through the best of stories. This class will consist of lecture style presentation, and homework to encourage discussion and reflection, in sha Allah. This course will be conducted using Zoom and Google Classroom. Please note the recordings for this class will be accessed via Vimeo. Further information will be provided after registration. This course is open for boys aged 11-15 years.
