Seerah for Older Girls: The Makkan Period
This Seerah course is designed to teach older girls about the blessed life of our Prophet Muhammad (ﷺ), going through the first Makkan period until the migration to Abysinnia. Students will discover the life-changing events that took place during this period. Through these events, students will be able to connect with the life of our beloved Prophet (ﷺ) and learn how to internalize the lessons and ideals to their daily lives. Key themes will be highlighted from each lesson, such as family relationships, diversity, loss, solitude, methods of effective communication, and much more!
Each class, students will be going through the book, ‘When the Moon Split’ by Safiur Rahman Mubarakpuri, and will have the opportunity to discuss their reflections in class. A pdf of this coursebook and resources used for this course will be made available. Students will be expected to keep a diary of Seerah gems, thoughts, and reflections of how the lessons from Seerah can be applied to their lives. This class will be conducted via Zoom and Google Classroom. Please note the recordings for this class will be accessed via Vimeo. Further information will be provided after registration. This class is open to older girls aged 13-17 years.
