FAQ's

I am USA citizen but will be outside of USA in Jan 2022. Can I still join?

We can do a tourist visa for those American citizens living outside of USA. The airline cost will be based on the seats available from the gateway or the country you are travelling from. Please email Dar El Salam with the request. Contact details available below.

I am not an American citizen and live outside the US. Can I join?

Sorry, we will not be able to issue Umrah visa for those living outside of USA. Currently this Umrah is only available to citizens from USA and Canada.

Can children attend?

Children under 12 are not allowed.
Children 12 and over are allowed and will require a bed, and like all passengers will also need to be vaccinated.

Can my husband come if we book as a family or as a married couple?

Yes, we have allowed this previously in women groups.

Do women need a mahram in order to go to Saudi Arabia?

Women over 18 can now visit the Kingdom without a Mahram with the new tourist visa. Dar El Salam submits the application for the tourist visa once the deposit is paid.

Can I upgrade to a Business class flight?

Yes, it can be done but it will not be at a fixed price. The price for the business class seats are based on the rate available on the date of the booking. Please email Dar El Salam with the request. Contact details available below.

My friend and I are both vaccinated. Can we share a room together?

Single rooms are for individuals and double, triple and quad rooms are for family members only based on the hotel’s new rules during the Covid-19 pandemic. However, if you are friends and both agree to share a room together; we can try to accommodate this. Please email Dar El Salam with the request. Contact details available below.

Is there financial aid, family or other discounts available?

Unfortunately, we do not have financial aid available. Rooms have a maximum capacity of four adults as per hotel policy.

What documents do I need?

You will need a passport that is valid from one of these countries.
All passports must be valid for min. 6 months on the day of travel. They are very strict with the rule, even one day less, will not be granted visa.
Prof of Covid-19 vaccine.
Copy of a negative PCR result. Need to be done within 48 hours from your travel date

What COVID-19 restrictions are in place?

You must be masked at all times and practice social distancing. If you are not masked, you will face a fine of 10,000 riyals.
You must be fully vaccinated. We highly recommend also getting a booster shot.
You must have a negative PCR test within 48 hours of your departure to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Visa print out
Prof of vaccine.
Copy of PCR result. Need to be done within 48 hours from your travel date
Fill up the online Muqeem form 3 days prior to your departure date. Muqeem registration
All travel documents for your trip.
Take extra face mask
Take extra sanitizers

Please note that Dar El Salam will be creating a dedicated WhatsApp group 48 hours prior to your departure to ease communication, particularly logistical information, during the trip with your assigned local tour guide and Dar El Salam representative.
